Blarg 11-12-2007: Happy Veterans Day! or as people in Indiana pronounce it: Happy Vetrins Day!
Here are some other strange Indiana pronunciations I've heard:
1. Vehicle- The "H" is silent but I hear Ve "hick" le all the time.
2. Insurance- Indiana people accent the "In" for some reason.
3. Pitch In- Often sounds like "pigeon". Most of the world calls these potlucks, a meal where the guests bring a dish, but out here they are called pitch ins because everyone is pitching in. The first time I was invited to a pitch in, I thought I was being invited to eat some pigeon. I politely declined.
That's all folks. Have a great Thanksgivins, christmost, and a happy newz yeerz!
